The WERQ Run Club is a friendly group of runners that holds running sessions twice a week with starting points at various locations in Amsterdam. We strive to create an inclusive and warm environment where queer people can enjoy sports and build social connections.

Interval Training

Whether you are putting on your running shoes for the first time or are an experienced runner looking for company and a way to improve your skills, our interval sessions are designed for you. These sessions offer a supportive and inclusive environment, specially tailored for the queer community. They feature a mix of fast intervals—ranging from 200 m to 800 m—with slow recovery runs in between. These intervals are essential for developing speed and endurance, meaning that regular participation can help you run faster over longer periods. We alternate our starting locations between the WERQ gym in East and Bar Bario in West. Join us to push your limits, set tangible goals, and celebrate every milestone. Easy Long Run

Connect with fellow queer runners and enjoy the outdoors with our long sessions. Each session covers a distance of 5 to 7 km at a steady pace, so that everyone, regardless of experience, can keep up. For those interested in longer distances, we also offer extended routes. We alternate our starting locations between the We Are Queer gym in East and Bar Bario in West to ensure variety and accessibility. This program offers a supportive space to challenge yourself and achieve your fitness goals in a friendly environment.

Running Events

The WERQ Run Club regularly participates in running events throughout the Netherlands, such as the Dam Tot Dam Loop and the Zevenheuvelenloop. Together with the Run Club, you can prepare to develop your pace and increase your running distances. Above all, we prioritize the enjoyment of running together.
