Volunteering at We Are Queer
We are looking for volunteers for various roles, from supporting the head coach to gym hosts and social media support. For all roles, you’ll become part of the We Are Queer community. We regularly organize volunteer meetups and dinners, and we have volunteer coordinators who will support you.
And you’ll receive a free gym membership, giving you access to both locations! Below is a brief description of all the roles we’re looking to fill. Download the PDF for a detailed role description!
Role – Host
Location: West/East
Hours: 2-3 hours per week
Start: immediately
Are you a social person who likes to welcome people and create a safe, inclusive atmosphere? Do you enjoy keeping a place tidy? Then we are looking for you as a host for our gym!
Role – Queer Library
Location: East
Hours: 2-4 hours per week
Start: immediately
Do you believe in the power of stories to connect communities? Do you feel like working together to create a queer library where everyone feels represented? Do you want to help build a place where books, language and community are central? Then join the Queer Library and help shape this special project.
Role – Head coach support
Location: West/East
Hours: 2 hours per week
Start: immediately
Are you organized, digitally talented, and do you enjoy working behind the scenes to make sure everything is right? Then we are looking for you to support our head coach!
Role – Socials support
Location: West/East
Hours: 2-4 hours per week
Start: immediately
Are you visually creative, do you know the ins and outs of Instagram, and do you have a sense of storytelling? Then we are looking for you to help us create and post content on our socials!
Role – Customer care support
Location: West
Hours: 2-4 hours per week
Start: immediately
Our community is growing – and that’s great! To maintain the nice and safe atmosphere people come for, we need people who keep in touch with our members in an attentive and friendly manner. As a customer care volunteer, you are the one who makes sure that everyone feels seen, heard, and welcome.
Role – Event organization
Location: west
Hours: 2-4 hours per week

Our gym is more than just a place to work out – it’s a community. And that also includes fun, connecting events! Think of workshops, sports challenges, clothing swaps, or just a fun get-together. Would you enjoy organizing these kinds of events? Then we are looking for you!

Our gym is more than a place to workout – it is a community. The gym is a place where queer people feel safe, seen and feel welcome. And that community is growing! That is why we are looking for people that want to grow with us. You perhaps?
We have a few set roles (like host, event organisator, customer care), but maybe you have another talent or idea that perfectly fits with us. Or maybe you want to contribute something but are not sure yet what. That is fine too!
